Formerly known as On Being, Alive is the independent evangelical voice of Australia’s Christians. The magazine was started by a group of keen Christians eager to bring an evangelical message to both the Australian church and Christians in general. Originally published under the name of On Being, the name was changed to Alive in the early 1990s as a way of making the magazine broader in terms of appeal.

In this time, On Being, and then Alive, has not missed a beat. It has continuously sought to cover both Australia - and the world’s – issues from a Christian viewpoint.

Alive is not published or funded by any denomination or religious organisation. It is part of the Media Incorp Christian media group, with the sole purpose of spreading the great news about Jesus Christ.

Alive does not just tackle issues, but also keeps its readers up to date with profiles and testimonials on what other Christians are doing in the world. Our mission is to equip, inspire and challenge Christians of all denominations.
